These are sketches I drew gearing up to live-illustrate the RWC games at Octagon’s viewing event in Tokyo. The project fell through last-minute (I was gutted, but it was an honor just to be asked!), but I thought I’d share some of the sketches I drew to prepare for it. Good news is that my sketch of Yu Tamura made it on the front cover of Yokohama Seasider’s January issue!!
The goal for these sketches was to portray the physicality and speed of the players, as well as the energy and intensity of the game.
