From
Albert Whitman’s website:
Out for a walk on a cloudy day, Hound suddenly decides that he’s gone far enough…right in the middle of a busy intersection! His owner tugs on his leash and offers treat after treat, but Hound won’t go. Then those clouds open up into a thunderstorm—and Hound goes and goes.
Short, bouncy text and a sweet ending make this the perfect story for all who love dogs,
even at their most stubborn.

From Kirkus Reviews:
”…Bold, cartoon-style illustrations give Hound plenty of personality, with amusing expressions and funny eyeball effects. Hound’s humorous tale will work for canine-themed storytimes as well as give a boost to new or struggling readers. This funny hound should stick around.”

From Mary Malhotra at Good Reads with Ronna:
”…I recommend this book for all ages, and especially, but not exclusively, to dog lovers. I shared Hound Won’t Go with my favorite three-year-old, and she loved completing the rhymes, for some odd reason putting the most gusto into anticipating the word “No.” She has requested the book several times since, even over video chat. Just what the doctor … or vet? … ordered: a picture book that both the reader and the listener can enjoy, over and over.”

Review from Goodreads:
I can’t figure out why but this is my 2 year olds favorite book. He can recite it by heart and wants to read it daily. Any book that can do that gets 5 stars.

Review from Goodreads:
"Sometimes simple is simply wonderful, and that's the case with this adorable story about a hound who stops and plops in the middle of the road, causing havoc all around him. Short rhyming text propels the story while bright, vibrant illustrations add extra heart and warmth. A fun, funny dog-lover's delight!

Review on Goodreads:
"The few words on each page carry great impact. This book is both funny and --especially by the end-- touching.
The bright illustrations are perfect at capturing the expression of the goofy hound, and the illustrator also did a great job showing the changes in weather that occur over the course of this book. Verdict: can't wait to read this to my 2 year old. He's going to love it.”

Review on Amazon:
We have a basset hound so this book looked like a must. It is so cute and relatable. My son is now 7 and reads it to me. He thinks it is very funny. My 2yo niece loves our hound so I bought it for her as well, she loves it too. The pictures are well done and the dog's facial expressions go along with his feelings through the book. It would also be good for a child learning to read emotions on faces.”
